Ziplines at Vallé Adventure Park: €75.98 Buys One 1.5 km Line or Six Shorter Ones — Which Package to Book

6 min read

A smiling man in a lime-green helmet marked VALLE and a black harness, caught mid-flight above a blurred green hillside

Vallé Adventure Park in Chamouny sells its ziplines as eight separate listings, and two of them cost exactly the same: €74.07 for one very long line or for six shorter ones. That is the comparison most people need, and the pages do not make it for you.

For most people: the 6-Zipline Adventure Tour at €75.98, 2.4 km, about 45 minutes, 4.9 stars from 15 reviews. If the single 1.5 km line is the point: the Signature zipline at €75.98, 4.9 stars from 35 reviews, the best-evidenced listing. For the longest session: the 10 Flight Trail at €101.90, ten lines in 1 hour 45 minutes, but only seven reviews.

Be clear about the evidence before you read the rest. Of the eight listings, one has more than 15 reviews. A 5.0 from seven reviews can become a 4.6 with one disappointed guest, so treat the ratings of the smaller listings as a pleasant sign, not a ranking.

Price per line: the ten-line trail wins, the Sky Pulse loses

Where a page states the number of lines, the arithmetic is short. The ten-line trail is €9.93 a line (€99.34 for ten). The six-line tour is about €12.35 a line (€74.07 for six). The 7 Discovery Tour is €13.07 a line (€91.49 for seven). The Sky Pulse is €18.05 a line (€126.35 for seven). The Signature listing never states a number of lines, only one 1.5 km line, so there is nothing to divide.

Lines are not equal, which is why the list is only a guide. The Discovery tour’s seven lines add up to 1.6 km, barely more than the Signature line alone, and its page says that total excludes the Signature line. The Sky Pulse covers 3.1 km and its description mentions the Signature line as part of the route. If that reading is right, it costs less than the Discovery tour and the Signature line bought separately (€91.49 plus €74.07 is €165.56). The page is loosely written, though, and with three reviews nobody has confirmed it.

The jump from six lines to ten costs €25.27 more for four extra lines and an extra hour. That is €6.32 an extra line, the cheapest flying on the menu, if you believe the page.

Where the pages contradict themselves

  • The 10 Flight Trail describes a 3.5 km, ten-line journey, but its inclusions list says “access to 500m zipline course”. One of the two is wrong, and the page does not say which.
  • The 7 Discovery Tour shows a duration of “1 day” in its header and “approximately 1 hour” in its description. Take the description, and ask.
  • Several inclusion lists mix in exclusions. The 10-line and Sky Pulse pages put personal expenses, food and “transportation to the park” in the same list as the safety gear. The six-line page lists “transportation (pickup and drop-off)” next to food and gratuities. Do not assume a pickup. The meeting point on every page is the park itself.
  • Does the six-line tour include the Signature line? The page does not say. If the 1.5 km line is why you are coming, only the Signature and Sky Pulse pages mention it as part of what you ride.

None of this makes the packages bad, but the questions are worth sending to the operator before you pay.

The 6-Zipline Adventure Tour: the same price as one line, six times the lines

The page describes six lines over 2.4 km, each with its own arrival and departure platform and short walks between them. You ride seated in a sitting harness, with a live guide in English or French. It states the tour suits all ages including children, while also listing children under 4, pregnant women and wheelchair users as not suitable. Cellphones and baby carriages are listed as not allowed (per the booking page).

For the money, this is the pick: same price as the Signature, six rides instead of one, and a rating of 4.9 from 15 reviews that is thin but not tiny. The honest limit is the question above: it is not clear that the 1.5 km line is among the six.

The Signature zipline: one long ride, the park entry included

This is the park’s headline: a single line of 1.5 km, over forest, waterfalls and lagoons according to the page. Its inclusions are the clearest of any listing: the zipline ticket, all safety gear, an instructor and safety briefing, and the entry ticket to the park itself, plus a GoPro for rent and photos for sale, both at extra cost with no prices on the page. The operator lists pregnant women and children under 4 as not suitable.

No duration is given, and a single line is over in a short time compared with a circuit. You are paying for length and the 35 reviews behind it, the largest base here, not for a session.

The 10 Flight Trail: the most lines, the least proof

Ten lines over 3.5 km in 1 hour 45 minutes, with a live guide in English or French and 5.0 stars from seven reviews. It is the cheapest per line and the longest course of the three, and its description names waterfalls and the 23 Coloured Earth among the sights below the lines. Not suitable for pregnant women, wheelchair users and babies under 1, says the operator. Cellphones and large bags are not allowed.

Book it if you already know you will want more than six lines. Otherwise six is a good place to start, and the extra €25.27 is paid for something with seven reviews and one inconsistent page.

The other five listings, and who should skip them

The Waterfall Zipline, 300 m, is €56.64 at 4.3 stars from 13 reviews, the lowest rating of the group. It is one line a fifth of the Signature’s length for €17.43 less. It includes park entry, gear and a briefing; the page lists nothing under not suitable.

The Nepalese Bridge, 350 m, is €41.83 at 4.8 from 9 reviews, and it is a walk, not a zipline. The page calls it the longest suspension bridge in the Indian Ocean, 80 to 100 m above the canopy. Operator exclusions: pregnant women, anyone under 150 cm (4 ft 9 in) and people with mobility impairments.

The Sky Pulse (7 lines, 3.1 km, €126.35, 5.0 from 3 reviews) and the 7 Discovery Tour (1.6 km, €91.49, 4.6 from 3 reviews) have three reviews each. Not enough to recommend over the others.

Park entry alone costs €15 per person on its own listing, which says it is an entry ticket only and that activities are paid on site. It names ziplines, quad biking and a mountain luge kart as options, with no prices. The Signature, Waterfall and Nepalese Bridge pages include the park entry, so buying the entry ticket as well pays for the grounds twice.

Who is turned away

These are the operator’s own lists, not Mauritian law, and they differ between listings. Under-4s are excluded on the Signature and six-line pages; the 10-line, Sky Pulse and Discovery pages say babies under 1. The pages do not explain the difference, so ask if you have a child of three. Pregnant women are excluded on every zipline and bridge page that has a list. Wheelchair users are listed on the six-line, ten-line, Sky Pulse and Discovery pages. No weight limit appears on any of them.

Getting there, and what else is nearby

The meeting point is the park itself, B102, Chamouny, in the south-west, and the entry listing notes that the park was formerly called La Vallée des Couleurs. That entry page says transport is not provided. The road between Chamarel and Chamouny is narrow and winding, as our south-west drive explains, and it is a daylight drive. If you are going on your own, compare car rental on your dates.

The park’s Coloured Earth is not Chamarel’s. The geopark at Chamarel is a different place with its own gate and its own ticket, set out in the Chamarel geopark ticket guide. For wheels instead of wires, the quad, buggy and 4x4 guide covers the operators it compares.

Which one to book

For most people: the €74.07 six-line tour. Six rides in about 45 minutes for the price of the Signature’s single line, a 4.9 from 15 reviews, and an exclusions list that starts at children under 4. Ask the operator whether the Signature line is among the six if it matters to you.

See availability and prices for the 6-Zipline Adventure Tour

For one long ride and the most reviews: the €74.07 Signature. For the longest session and a tolerance for thin evidence: the €101.90 ten-line trail. Skip the Sky Pulse and the Discovery tour until they have more than three reviews apiece.
